Wow. It was obvious we were back in the USA. Big, fancy hotels at prices we could afford. Hurray! The AmericInn had it all – fresh baked cookies at the concierge desk, a friendly and helpful Krissi behind the counter, excellent security (each entrance and hallway adorned with cameras), a sauna, whirlpool, indoor pool and generous continental breakfast. The walk-in manager’s special brought the price into our budget range.

Our room was a suite, complete with in-room refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, etc. It was clean, comfortable and free of bed bugs. The continental breakfast the next morning was more than adequate and Mr. Pish very much enjoyed his stay, as did we.

RESTAURANT:
River’s Edge Restaurant
26 12th Street South
Sauk Centre, MN 56378

This restaurant came highly recommended by Krissi at the AmericInn. The prices were reasonable, the service was friendly and efficient, the bread was fresh baked and warm, and overall it was a nice “local” experience. The salad bar came with our meals and had a nice selection of fresh produce and homemade soup and salads.

David had fish and I had steak. Both were good and affordable. The atmosphere was nice – sort of like a country pub. This restaurant is only about two blocks from the AmericInn which makes it a really good choice as well.

  1. I know this would have taken a while to write up, thanks for that.
