Review: Hotel & Restaurant in Delafield, WI

Delafield, WI

Country Pride Inn
2412 Milwaukee Street
Delafield, Wisconsin 53018

We continued our stays in independent, interesting hotels. The Country Pride Inn was clean, the staff was friendly, and our bed bug-free streak was uninterrupted. The heat worked. Our only complaints with this room were that the inside of the shower curtain could have been cleaner and the tub didn’t drain. Otherwise, it was fine, and needless to say affordable and pet-friendly. It was also extremely close to shopping, restaurants, and the highway.

Water Street Brewery

After a small victory at Kohl’s replacing the down pillow I left in Manitoba, we went for dinner at the Water Street Brewery. I have never seen so many television screens in my life. The menu sort of reminded me of an Applebee’s or a Chili’s, but they had their own twist on everything.

I’ve noticed that many restaurants list their non-alcoholic beverages but not their prices. I don’t recall specifically if that’s the case here, but I do recall being surprised to find out that David’s refill of root beer cost us an additional $2.50.

My salad was an interesting mix of greens, veggies and chicken, but the dressing was the kind that builds up fire in the back of your throat until you can’t taste anything. Granted, my taste buds are extremely sensitive, so I’m sure that’s not the normal reaction. David’s French fries were really good, and he enjoyed his California burger. Between those two entrees, no appetizers or dessert, the total was just under $30 before tip.
