Fair Oaks Farms has it all. An educational dairy “amusement park” for kids young and old, a gas station, convenience store, cheese factory, dairy shop, ice cream stand, cafeteria-style cafe and a gift shop. Why am I mentioning all this other stuff? Because Fair Oaks Farms isn’t just somewhere to get something to eat. Now I’ll concentrate on the food.

The cheese shop is just amazing. You can sample a wide variety of award-winning cheeses until you find the ones you want to purchase. Gouda, Swiss, Havarti, Muenster – we tried all of those and more and were just amazed by the quality. The melt-in-your-mouth Sweet Swiss was probably our favorite – but who could decide? It was all just too delicious. The same goes for the ice cream stand and the dairy section of the cafeteria. The chocolate milk was like drinking chocolate ice cream. It was unbelievably good.

We heard rumors about the amazing omelettes and other goodies served in the restaurant. Unfortunately we were still full from our road breakfast. Next time, I’m going to bring my appetite and go for one of the omelettes with a slice of toast loaded with their homemade butter.
