Review: Motel & Restaurant, Richmond, IN

Days Inn-Richmond
5775 National Road East
Richmond, IN 47374

Once again the coupon book came through for us. At the Days Inn in Richmond, Sam behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. He recommended some local restaurants for us and let us know which ones gave us a discount for staying at his hotel. The customer service at this hotel was great. The hotel itself had some issues. Their ice machine was broken. The nice lady at the front desk graciously gave David a tub of huge cubes which smelled like whatever else was in her freezer. David and I joked how there had been a murder in our room since there was what appeared to be blood on the bathroom wall and door jamb, as well as one of the mattresses. But there were no bed bugs. At 2 a.m. I was awakened by the smell of cigarette smoke. I could only assume it was coming through one of the adjoining rooms but it was strong and definitely irritated my nose and throat. All that said, the hotel was comfortable and super affordable.

Texas Roadhouse
3799 East National Road
Richmond, IN 47374

Sam at the Days Inn recommended Texas Roadhouse and we did receive a 10% discount off the meal by showing our room keycard sleeve. That saved us $2.60. We arrived too late to take advantage of the restaurant’s daily lower-price specials, so we ordered less expensive entrees like the 10 oz Prime Rib (David) and the country-fried steak (me). I found my steak to be a little tough, dry and spicy. David said his meal was a little on the dry side as well. I recall the salads and mashed potatoes being very good. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Before tip, our meal came to $25.01.
