Review: Starvin Marvin Pizza in Hinton OK

Starvin Marvin Pizza
406 N. Max
Hinton, OK 73047

We’d been looking for a “mom and pop” place for lunch for hours. In a nearby city, all we could find was chains. We arrived in the tiny town of Hinton at nearly 3 p.m. and counted 4 Mexican restaurants and Starvin Marvin Pizza. A pizza place isn’t exactly ideal for someone who tries to stay away from wheat.

I could have ordered a salad, but I really needed something more substantial. I asked lovely Rachel if I could have a meatball sub without the bread and she was glad to accommodate.

My meatballs came out in a hot ceramic dish loaded with tomato sauce and gooey cheese. Talk about improvising! My lunch was hot, hearty and delicious. It was so nice to fill the void in my stomach! David had a ham and cheese sub which he really enjoyed.

This friendly service and good food came to less than $14.00. If you’re ever in Hinton, stop by Starvin Marvin’s, get something good to eat and tell Rachel we said hi.
