Review: Sands Restaurant Dalhart, TX

Sands Restaurant
314 Liberal Street
Dalhart, Texas 79022

We were headed northwest into New Mexico when I saw the sign for Sands down a side-street to the right. We decided to give it a shot.

The restaurant had a lot of character, both inside and out. The décor leaned towards a very “old Texas” kind of atmosphere.

With breakfast served all day, a wheat-free meal was easy for me to choose. I ordered eggs well done with home fries. I hate runny eggs. David ordered the daily special: Hamburger Steak with the soup and salad bar. David was very pleased with his soup and we shared his salad which was also good. He was not so happy with the flavor of his entrée, although my meal was perfect. The eggs were completely cooked and tasty as were the potatoes.

Before tip, the entire meal came to under $18.00.
