Review: Quality Inn at Lake Powell – Page, AZ

Quality Inn at Lake Powell

After a very long day of driving, we arrived at Quality Inn at Lake Powell. The view from the hotel was amazing: Vermillion Cliffs and the Glen Canyon Dam. With sunset arriving, the colors glowed, and we could see them from our room.

The room was an interesting shape, but was also large and comfortable. This was an older hotel, and the hallway of the floor we were on had a lower ceiling and an ice machine that didn’t work. I had to hoof it up to the 2nd (ground level) floor via the stairs which had doors that were not in the best condition.

We’d once again used the discount hotel coupon book to get a great rate. The dog was welcome there, too – this time we called ahead to discover the other hotels in Page were much more expensive and not pet-friendly.

Our room included a microwave and a refrigerator, and of course, no bed bugs. The sliding glass door out to the parking lot made for very convenient luggage unloading and was even better for dog-walking.

The next morning held perhaps one of the best breakfasts we’d encountered during our 40 days on the road. Real scrambled eggs, home fries and more were available on the hot breakfast buffet, along with yogurts and a large assortment of other foods.

Another bonus at this hotel was the shop they had across from the lobby, full of souvenirs including postcards which have become hard to find as you travel North America. The counter crew was super friendly as we checked in and out. This Quality Inn really was great.
