Review: Blondie’s of Hanksville UT

Blondie’s Eatery & Gift
300 North Highway 95
Hanksville, UT 84734

Talk about the middle of nowhere: after leaving Capitol Reef National Park and heading northeast towards Green River, it had been hours since we’d seen any signs of human existence. But then bang – a crossroads – we were in Hanksville with a gas station, two hotels and Blondie’s.

The sign outside Blondie’s said “World Famous Burgers” so I figured that was the way to go. I ordered the cheese burger (no bun) with fries and David ordered the Reuben with onion rings. The restaurant had only been re-opened for the season for one day, so the proprietor didn’t have a lot of his supplies. He was also the only one there, acting as order taker, cook, waiter and more.

Despite all that, our food came out quickly, and hot, and delicious. Between the two of us the stop came to around $15. How can you beat that? I can only imagine how great Blondie’s is when it’s running on all cylinders.
